When you took a Eighties & Nineties, electronic publication techniques largely supplanted a traditional processes, & per early 2000s a word prepress became just about synonymous sustaining digital prepress.

Prior to computer layout and project, the prepress stage utilized a big format camera to make shell or even bromide of the completed text & images. Computers currently rasterise a completed layout by using either lasers or thermal diodes to the shell within a Platesetter, this is referred to as Computer to Plate (CtP).
